These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all shipping, courier, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, package consolidation, warehousing, and related services (“Services”) provided by DDS EXPRESS, a company operating under Jamaican law. By using or requesting our Services, you (“Customer”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
DDS EXPRESS provides:
Domestic & international shipping (via air and sea)
Freight forwarding & package consolidation
Customs clearance assistance
Delivery to door or pickup location
Storage and warehousing
Online shopping assistance
We may use third-party carriers or logistics partners (“Carriers”) to fulfill some or all parts of the Services.
The Customer agrees to:
Provide accurate recipient/sender information including full names, addresses, phone numbers, and email.
Ensure that items are correctly labeled and packaged to withstand handling and transport.
Provide all required documentation for customs (e.g., invoices, receipts, declarations).
Disclose the true nature, quantity, and value of items shipped.
Avoid shipping any prohibited or restricted items unless approved by DDS EXPRESS and authorities.
Pay all fees, taxes, duties, and additional charges promptly.
The following must not be shipped via DDS EXPRESS:
Illegal drugs or narcotics
Firearms or ammunition (without legal documentation)
Hazardous materials, flammable substances, or explosives
Pornographic materials
Counterfeit items or items violating intellectual property rights
Perishable food (unless specially arranged)
Currency, bonds, stocks, or high-value negotiable instruments
Items restricted under Jamaican law or laws of the destination country
If any prohibited items are discovered, DDS EXPRESS reserves the right to confiscate, report to authorities, or return/destroy the item at the Customer’s cost.
Shipping rates are based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater.
Fees may include handling, fuel surcharge, storage, customs processing, taxes, and other applicable charges.
All fees must be paid in full before goods are delivered or released, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
DDS EXPRESS accepts payments via cash, debit/credit card, bank transfer, and other approved methods.
Failure to pay outstanding charges may result in withholding of goods, late fees, or legal action.
DDS EXPRESS assists with customs clearance in Jamaica; however, all duties and taxes assessed by the Jamaica Customs Agency are the responsibility of the Customer.
Customers must provide accurate invoices and product descriptions to comply with customs regulations.
DDS EXPRESS is not liable for customs delays, inspections, seizures, or penalties arising from non-disclosure or misrepresentation.
Once shipments are cleared, Customers will be contacted for pickup or delivery (if arranged).
Shipments must be collected within 7 calendar days of notification.
A storage fee of JMD $200 per day per package will apply after the 7-day grace period.
If packages remain unclaimed for 30 days, DDS EXPRESS may dispose of or auction the goods to recover storage and handling costs. No refunds will be issued.
Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed and may be affected by weather, customs, strikes, holidays, or unforeseen events.
DDS EXPRESS is not liable for delays beyond its control.
DDS EXPRESS exercises due care in handling all shipments. However:
Claims for damage or loss must be reported within 3 business days of receiving the package.
Claims must include: photos of the package, receipts/invoices, and a description of the issue.
DDS EXPRESS’s liability is limited to JMD $1,000 per pound or the declared value, whichever is less.
Higher-value coverage is available via optional shipping insurance, which must be requested before shipment.
No claims will be entertained for:
Goods damaged due to poor packaging by sender
Concealed damage not visible upon delivery
Prohibited or undeclared items
Delays due to customs or regulatory issues
DDS EXPRESS offers optional shipment insurance upon request.
Without insurance, all shipments are transported at the Customer’s own risk beyond the basic liability limit above.
Insurance claims will be processed per the insurer’s terms and may require additional documentation.
DDS EXPRESS reserves the right to open and inspect any package without prior notice if:
Required by customs or law enforcement
Necessary for safety, security, or to verify contents
In cases of suspected misdeclaration, prohibited contents, or fraudulent shipping
DDS EXPRESS shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance due to events beyond its reasonable control, including:
Natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, earthquakes)
Government orders, embargoes, or policy changes
Labor strikes, pandemics, or national emergencies
Transport disruptions, carrier issues, or customs delays
DDS EXPRESS reserves the right to refuse service or terminate ongoing Services in cases of:
Non-payment
Misuse of the service
Illegal or suspicious activity
Abuse, threats, or harassment of staff
All outstanding charges must be settled immediately upon termination.
All logos, branding, website content, and materials used by DDS EXPRESS are the property of the company and may not be used or reproduced without written permission.
Customer information is kept confidential and used only for the purpose of providing services.
We may share information with customs authorities, regulators, or carriers where necessary or legally required.
DDS EXPRESS does not sell or misuse customer data.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica.
Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation.
If unresolved, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Jamaican courts.
DDS EXPRESS reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on our website or provided to Customers. Continued use of our Services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
